Owner/Principal, Studio Marmalade is a studio dedicated to the process of design while celebrating the serendipitous- the goal is to work towards fulfilling the unlimited potential of good design and the impact it can have on product, business and community. Services include architecture, web design, and graphics.

Peter Fillat Architects
Designer, Schematic Design: Lexington Square, Baltimore, MD
A mixed-use, development in downtown Baltimore, programmed for 350 units, retail space and parking. Integration of the program requirements with the site conditions and the existing historic buildings.
Designer, Schematic Design: MetroView, MD
Conceptual design studies and massing for a series of buildings on an urban development site, adjacent to the New Carrollton Metro Station.
Designer, Schematic Design: Kirby Mixed-Use, TX
Conceptual design of a large mixed-use development. Crafted a visual scheme for the retail which integrates the concepts of advertisement with a distinctive approach to the event of shopping.

2007/2005

Pyatok Architects, Oakland, CA
Designer, Schematic Design: Ocean Avenue, San Francisco, CA
Ocean Avenue, a large, urban-scale development in a unique San Francisco neighborhood.
168 rental units, 1:1 parking garage, and 40,000 s.f. of retail.
Project budget: $45 million.
Designer, Schematic Design: Wood Street Apartments, Oakland, CA
Wood Street, a large, multi-phase residential development 400 units and 2:1 parking.
I worked specifically on a segment consisting of 21 townhouses that create a defining edge along the western portion of the site.            
Designer, Design Development: 901 Jefferson Street, Oakland, CA
A mixed-use, market rate development in downtown Oakland.
75 condominiums, parking for 75 cars and 1 retail space.
Project budget: $18 million.
Construction Document Phase: Mills College, Oakland, CA
Student housing, 24 suites (95 beds) contained within 3 buildings.

   
Teaching Experience  
   
current -Adjunct faculty at Morgan Stage University, Communication Skills- the instruction of hand media skills for Freshmen level architecture students- includes drafting, sketching and model making- with the intent to familiarize students with basic knowledge of architectural craft and design.
-Adjunct faculty at Morgan State University, Sophomore Studio- -an introductory studio course that emphasizes architectural principles and process and the notion of binary conditions and how they relate to the basic concepts of architectural design.

2003

Graduate Teaching Fellow, University of Oregon, Architectural Media
▪ Bi-weekly classes of ~20 students; worked with students on hand-drawing techniques to help reinforce graphic communication skills and concept formation.

Graduate Teaching Fellow, University of Oregon, Architectural Context
▪ Led discussions on the weekly lectures for both graduate and undergraduate students. In our meetings my job was to facilitate a better understanding of the lectures and readings.
